Consulting Services Overview

Here’s how I work with schools and communities.

Okinawa-Based Teaching & Community

For Schools and Educators in Japan

I work with international and bilingual schools to help teachers and leaders build bridges across language programs and create classrooms where multilingual learners thrive. Many schools are deeply committed to their students, yet face challenges such as uncertainty about how bilingualism affects learning, lack of training in multilingual pedagogies, or tension between English-speaking and Japanese-speaking staff. My consulting provides practical tools and research-based strategies to address these needs.

  • Improving Collaboration Between Japanese and English Teachers

    • Building shared understanding and practical routines for teamwork.

  • Workshops for Parents

    • Guiding parents to understand bilingual development, support language at home, and collaborate with the school.

Okinawa-Based Teaching & Community

As a long-time resident of Okinawa, I care deeply about creating opportunities for children and young people who may feel left out because of learning challenges, language barriers, or cultural transitions.

My local work focuses on two main areas:

② Tutoring For Multilingual Learners

I also provide one-to-one or small group tutoring for children and adolescents from multilingual backgrounds, including families connected to local universities and international communities in Okinawa. This tutoring focuses on:

  • Supporting literacy and academic performance in English or Japanese

  • Helping children adjust to new school systems and languages

  • Building confidence in communication across languages

  • Providing flexible support for children navigating learning difficulties or language gaps

Each tutoring plan is tailored to the child’s needs, combining academic support with encouragement to thrive socially and personally.

① 放課後ディ (After School Program for Special Needs Learners

I design and teach English programs in after-school centers that support neurodivergent children and young adults. These lessons focus on:

  • Building communication and social skills through interaction

  • Developing confidence and positive experiences with English

  • Expanding horizons by connecting with new cultures and ideas

  • Encouraging teamwork and peer connection in safe, supportive settings

Through these programs, English becomes more than a subject — it’s a bridge to social growth and new opportunities.
